Journalist Saša Uhlová set out to explore the worst-paid jobs around the republic in order to capture working conditions in contemporary Czechia. With a camera hidden in her glasses, she worked in a hospital washroom, at a poultry plant, behind a cash register at a supermarket, at a razor blade factory and at a waste sorting facility. Her reports were published at A2larm.cz under the title The Heroes of Capitalist Labor. During her research, she was accompanied by a film crew who would capture the way she coped with changing jobs and teams, bad working conditions and separation from her family. The shot footage constitutes the basis for the documentary titled The Limits of Work, accompanied by Uhlová’s own narration. The film won in the Best Czech Documentary Film category and received the Audience Award at Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival 2017.
