As the child of more or less well-off parents, Karl has never really put much thought into his future. Shortly before his high school exams, however, the teenager spends more and more time in the digital world of his mobile phone, where he has started his personal rebellion against the system with his Internet blog “The Language of Many Others”. This is where, amongst other things, he posts images of his family members putting a strain on his relationship with his father. Karl finally feels understood when fellow student Doro begins to show an interest in him. When she suddenly drops him again, Karl starts to believe in an utter arbitrariness in which nothing is real – and puts his life increasingly in the hands of his followers.
