The film President Blaník tells the tale of Antonín Blaník, one of the most significant lobbyists in the country, as he decides to become a presidential candidate in the Czech elections. He enlists the help of his secretary, Žížala, and his assistant, Lenka, and launches a successful campaign built on promises that no one could ever keep. However, Žížala fails to deliver the signature sheets to the ministry in time. That is no problem for our good old Mr. Blaník, though. After all, there’s plenty of other candidates and no one can get inside his head... Inspired by a successful TV series, the film’s story takes place on the backdrop of true events of the second direct Czech presidential elections and stars a number of real players involved in the game of Czech political and social life.
