It’s better to lose nicely than to win nastily! – The most famous Czech lyricist Michal Horáček unsuccessfully ran for president. The film directed by Robin Kvapil, his advisor at the time, is an honest and exclusive behind-the-scenes look at an election campaign. The audience can witness the search for a political strategy and the building of Horáček’s media presence in real time. The candidate must set himself apart from the favored and unscrupulous Miloš Zeman, as well as other rivals. He is unable to avoid clashing with pro-Russian trolls and their calculated disinformation. The film features the lyricist’s biggest hits, which, despite being over 30 years old, are a surprisingly accurate commentary on the current situation in the Czech Republic.
