V roku 1962 sa dvaja slávni režiséri Alfred Hitchcock (1899 – 1980) a François Truffaut (1932 – 1984) zatvorili na týždeň v Hollywoode, aby spoločne prenikli do tajov filmovej réžie. Popri pôvodných magnetofónových nahrávkach z tohto stretnutia, které poslúžili ako materiál na Truffautovu legendárnu knihu Rozhovory Hitchcock – Truffaut (1983; v roku 1987 vyšla aj v češtine), ponúka nový dokument aj fotografie z tejto najväčšej lekcie filmového remesla všetkých čias a uvádza divákov do strhujúceho sveta tvorcu filmov, ako sú Ani tieň podozrenia (1943), Rozdvojená duša (1945), Okno do dvora (1954), Vertigo (1958), Na sever severozápadnou linkou (1959), Psycho (1960), Vtáci (1963), Marnie (1964) a mnohé ďalšie. Hitchcockovu neuveriteľne modernú tvorbu tu analyzuje a vysvetľuje jeden z jeho najuznávanejších kolegov.

In 1962, two renowned directors, Alfred Hitchcock (1899 – 1980) and François Truffaut (1932 – 1984), locked themselves away in Hollywood for a week to excavate the secrets behind the mise-en-scène in cinema. Alongside the original tape recordings of this meeting, which were the basis for Truffaut’s legendary book Hitchcock/Truffaut (1983), this new documentary also lets the audience peek at the photographs taken during the aforementioned most significant lesson in the history of filmmaking. The viewers are given a tour of the riveting world of the creator of films such as Shadow of a Doubt (1943), Spellbound (1945), Rear Window (1954), Vertigo (1958), North by Northwest (1959), Psycho (1960), Birds (1963), Marnie (1964) and many others. Hitchcock’s incredibly modern art is elucidated and explained by one of his most highly-acclaimed colleagues.
