Submissions for the 32nd International Film Festival FEBIOFEST Bratislava are now open!

You can submit your films to the following sections:

  • Feature Length Film Competition IN THE HEART OF EUROPE
  • Short Film Competition IN THE HEART OF EUROPE
  • Non-Competition Films

FEATURE FILM COMPETITION: IN THE HEART OF EUROPE

For the third time, the festival will feature a competition of feature-length films from the V4 countries (Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary), as well as Austria and Ukraine. The programming team will select 6 feature-length fiction (or animated) films and 6 feature-length documentary (or experimental) films that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum runtime: 60 minutes (fiction, animated), 50 minutes (documentary, experimental),
  • Year of production: Not older than 2 years from the festival's current edition (e.g., for the 2025 edition, © 2023 and © 2024 productions are eligible),
  • Production criteria: At least one represented country must be a minority producer within the meaning of the European Convention on Film Co-productions: V4 (Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland), Austria or Ukraine,
  • Eligibility: Films that were part of previous editions' selections are not eligible,
  • Premiere status: Specific premiere status is not required, but Slovak premieres are preferred.

Submitting feature-length films requires a fee of 20 EUR + VAT.

SHORT FILM COMPETITION: IN THE HEART OF EUROPE

  • Maximum runtime: 30 minutes,
  • Year of production: Not older than 2 years from the festival's current edition (e.g., for the 2025 edition, © 2023 and © 2024 productions are eligible),
  • Production criteria: At least one represented country must be a minority producer within the meaning of the European Convention on Film Co-productions: V4 (Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland), Austria or Ukraine,
  • Eligibility: Films that were part of previous editions' selections are not eligible,
  • Premiere status: Specific premiere status is not required, but Slovak premieres are preferred.

More information about the rules and conditions can be found in the Statute of the competition. Films can be submitted until December 31, 2024, using the online submission form.
